What is this stirring within my breast?
What hast thou awakened so deep inside?
Some great slumbering beast, or perchance
a forgotten memory reborn in a man struck dumb?
What hast thou done to me? Staring with
lucid eyes so bright they cause
yon stars to glow in return,
possessing beauty so o'erwhelming
it makes brave men faint of breath
and causes the very earth to tremble.
Angel, witch, vixen,
goddess, friend, lover,
what hast thou done to me?
Is it life, is it death?
Nay,
'tis only love,
a burning ember turning into an
uncontrollable wild-fire
consuming my heart in ecstasy flames
quenched only by cresting, crashing ocean waves
of thee
rolling o'er and o'er my soul.
