Far and wide
Hard and long
I remember finding it finally
But soon realised I was wrong
I remember feeling frustrated
And irritated
And devastated
Desperate I started believing
That love was overrated.
I remember crying for my loss
Mourning love
Mourning belief
I decided perfection was a myth
That was my only pain relief.
I remember forgetting it all
The search
The desperation
And giving up on finding love
Knowing love meant devastation
I remember when perfection appeared
Without warning
Without sound
When I stopped searching for perfection
It was exactly what I found.
