Remember last year, when I signed up for the military?
I was young and had horrible friendships that I could not parry.
So I signed that paper with pride and a hurt heart,
My friends were not my friends from the start.
I still had you, but I felt as low as Earth's core,
Who's a friend who shoves you out the door?
You and I had special times, you filled me with joy.
I learned to overcome those "friends" I now call "boys".
Now a year passes and I love living life,
[Never thought about the commitment I had made; about having to fight.]
And as these months past, You and I laughed, cried; lived life at its peak.
Reality strikes; I'll be leaving this week.
The war is not over, and now it's time I have to serve,
I guess this is the brutal hatred I deserve.
It was a careless mistake to sign up in the first place,
Looking to the future, at the hardships we both face.
Living life away from home, away from you,
I look inside and regard myself as a fool.
Blinded by the horrid feeling of bad friends,
Signed up for war; this could be the end.
I look into up the eyes of God and pray,
That I will return to my babe someday.
I ask God to guide her through this rough time,
I pray that everything will be just fine.
This moment isn't about me anymore,
It is for the one woman I so deeply care for.
Just listen to me, no matter what you do,
No matter what happens to me, I will always love you.
