The cool and gentle autumn air
Brushes from my face my hair
Walking through the dark of night
With nothing but a candle's light
I drink from this bottle of Everclear
It masks my pain when I come here
I come upon a row of weathered graves
That in the dark resemble concrete waves
The third stone down is where you rest
Made all up your very best
Your name engraved in this rock of loss
Along with a silhouette of a cross
Why did the angels take you away?
Why couldn't you stay just one more day?
Well you won't come back to me, so I'm coming to you
I pick up a shovel that leans against a marble statue
I throw the Everclear to the ground
The shattering glass echoes all around
I start to dig for your buried coffin
It begins to rain and the soil becomes softened
I dig faster and harder into the night
By the glow of the candle's dimming light
As the rain dies down the sun begins to rise
Creating magnificent orange and purple skies
As I am about to give up and dig no more
My shovel strikes something below the dirt floor
I remove your rotting coffin's lid
You look as beautiful as you ever did
I've worked all night and I need to rest
I crawl into your coffin and lay my head on your chest
I pull shut your coffin's lid so tight
Blocking out forever the sun's warm light
Sleeping six feet below the carved out ground
The moist soil caves in and covers us without a sound
As the oxygen fades and I slowly begin to suffocate
I smile lovingly with closed eyes and I kiss my sleeping soul-mate
