I sat there listening to the soft thuds of rain,
I was them rolling down the glass on my window,
As I wallowed in my pain.
I squeezed the tiny bottle of pills,
That I held tightly in my hand,
Thinking to myself that I no longer wanted to live in this land.
I wanted out,
I just wanted to get away,
I wanted to have my troubles leave me alone for one day.
My world shattered apart,
You left me for a reason unknown,
My best friend, the only other person I cared about was dead,
I was completely and utterly alone.
I tried to live on,
Trust me I tried,
But when you left me too,
I felt like I died.
So I opened the pills,
And lifted the bottle to my mouth,
But just when I was about to pour them in,
Someone came knocking on the door to my house.
I wanted to ignore it,
But I thought I'd see a face one more time,
But when I opened it,
I never thought it'd be your face looking into mine.
Your eyes were wide,
Filled with sorrow and pain,
You were soaking wet from the falling rain.
You saw the bottle,
And you saw the pills,
You immediately threw them away,
Telling me my life wasn't bad enough to kill.
I was mad,
I pushed past you into the middle of the street,
Asking why you cared,
But our bodies did meet.
I found myself in your arms,
I could tell that you were crying,
You told me that when you weren't with me you were dying.
Then we kissed,
That was all it took to take away my pain,
You brought back my life,
With that sweet kiss in the rain.
