I woke up and brushed my hair
Looked around the room at all the things youâ??d ever given me
Lined up everywhere
Tokens of youâ??re love for me
But I went around the room
Put them all inside a sack
And put that sack in the far corner of the house
Yet I dare not peak in it
Yet I dare not destroy it
But to be in my sight
Would be only destruction for me
Yet my dear, why do I think of you so
Each and every day you cross my mind
Why do you haunt me so
When the lover in my dreams
And you, are completely different people
Why does everyone miss the past?
Is it because the past is beautiful and fun
Why canâ??t the present be too?
When the knowledge of the past is already programmed in our hearts
And even though I packed those things away
I find more things sometimes
I peak inside sometimes
And then I unpack them
Because I donâ??t want to forget
I donâ??t want your tokens of love in a bag
I donâ??t want the past to be the past
I want you hear and now, because despite it all
I still love you forever
Even though now we talk and itâ??s awkward
If we never talked at all Iâ??d be sorrow itself
Love is a powerful force, and its forever
Thereâ??s nothing stronger in the world
So lets go there, to the way our true love feels forever
I hope my effort, trying to shape my love in beautiful words
As sloppy as they are, shows my true devotion, my affection
Because it is effortâ?¦.and crazy things for the sake of romance that shows
you truly want and need someone, and only then, is it worth it.
