The words now bitter sweet,
Realising what love is,
Feeling it from head to feet,
Diaries filled with writing,
Memories of the past,
What I thought was a good thing,
I now know why it didn't last,
It was just an illusion,
A confusion of the heart,
Although it sounds hurtful,
I'm grateful we did part,
The dawning of a new day,
A new relationship with you not him,
A love I can feel deep inside,
A love that makes me tremble within,
Although the pages now fill with tears,
And my heart frequently does ache,
I still see our love shine through,
See the perfect team we make,
As I continue to read,
Your name on every page,
I notice that it was you I loved,
And still love to this very day,
You were my first love,
You still are the man of my dreams,
You always will be the one I love,
That's not just how it seems,
I know I'll love you always,
And as long as I'm the one for you,
I'll continue you to be the your girl,
Constantly trying to make all your dreams come true,
As I add yet another entry,
It's guaranteed to include your name,
But today instead of tears,
Happiness is my aim,
I turn another page,
High hopes fill my heart,
As I write about us,
I see this is just the beginning... a new start.
