Confusing times must lie ahead
As these thoughts of him pollute my head
Feelings are now infecting my brain
Yet these dreams are always one and the same
We converse on into untimely hours
Rambling of nothing that could possibly matter
Opening a door
Not there before
I rest in your wake
Compelling me to quake
Manipulating her wasn’t part of his plan
But somehow things got dreadfully out of hand
I fear walking through
Try holding on, too
But it doesn’t make sense
How the perplexity is you
Reflecting for an eternity
I delved into my heart
Searching for an answer
The answer
I’d know from the start
Stricken by fear not discerning what’s best
My mind rejected these ideas just like the rest
Natural reactions were to mess around
Ignore the facts that would inevitably bring me down
You determined long ago just how you felt
It was emotions like these that I didn’t want dealt
Should I run or should I stay
I was contemplating it every day
Yearning
Burning
Consuming me from within
Desires coursed beneath her skin
Tripping on words
Wasn’t something I do
I blatantly searched for a way to elude
Alas like all inescapable things
It had finally brought her to her knees
Forcing her silhouette to ensue
I stand here now begging of you
I’m falling faster
And scarcely breathing
Please give me something to believe in
