I gaze in wonder into the deep blue oceans
of trust, which God has so beautifully created. I watch
the sound of waves lap with black lashes, slowly and surely
this beach shall stay with me forever?
Feeling the soft touch of pale sand against mine,
knowing I am safe. Sometimes, I like
to dive for pearls in the depths of his oceans.
Hidden treasure; once opened lasts a lifetime.
Magical things await me in his oceans;
beautiful colours I never knew
existed. Looming predators could easily tear my
heart apart, prove to me I lust after them.
At night, only in my mind, I dream
I am drowning in his oceans. Suffocating,
under salty water I can only call my tears, filled with
loneliness, memories, dreams.
I wonder if someday a bigger, better, beautiful wave
will come along and take his oceans from me.
Mine would then be still and empty,
a mere puddle on a gritty, grey pavement.
I now know that every time I swim
in his oceans it is a privilege.
I should seize, savour, treasure my pearls, because
one day his oceans might be gone.
